Look of the day: Stripes & Spikes

Jailhouse stripes, Beetlejuice bottoms, whatever you want to call them. They're everywhere these days, from the Marc Jacobs runway a series of striped looks that appeared straight out of London or New York in the 1960's: urbane, practical, but not without a distinct sense of fun and adventure. I like that there are colorful options but if I was going to attempt this bold look, I'd go with thicker stripes in black and white as I think it would be the most flattering look.

*** Las rayas de cárcel, pantalones de Beetlejuice, como quieras llamarlos. Están por todas partes en estos días, desde la pasarela Marc Jacobs una serie de los looks a rayas que aparecían directamente de Londres o Nueva York en la década de 1960: urbano, práctico, pero no sin una clara sensación de diversión y aventura. Me gusta que hay opciones de varios colores pero si ya iba a intentar este look atrevido, me quedo con las rayas gruesas en blanco y negro, ya que creo que sería el look más favorecedor.

Look of the day: Spikes for my B.day!

I love to step out with a funky edgy style, spikes and studs are a fun way to break away from your everyday go-to, and today is the perfect day to wear them because it is my 27th birthday and I wanted to celebrate it with an edgy punk rock look. Personally, I love the look it might be a little much for an everyday thing, but every once in a while I love to step out with an edgy style and today is just perfect to wear it.  Spikes can be combined not only with leather items but with light chiffon dresses or knitted shorts they also look very good, and the coolest part about this trend: you don't have to be a tough girl covered in piercings and tattoos to wear studs and spikes.

*** Me encanta salir con un estilo edgy vanguardista, los picos y estoperoles son una forma divertida de romper con tu día a día, y hoy es el día perfecto para usarlos porque es mi cumpleaños número 27 y quería celebrarlo con un estilo punk rock. Personalmente me encanta el look, podría ser too mucho para algo cotidiano, pero de vez en cuando me gusta usar el look edgy y hoy me queda perfecto. Los picos se pueden combinar no sólo con artículos de cuero, pero con ligeros vestidos de gasa o con shorts de punto también se ven muy bien, y la mejor parte acerca de esta tendencia: no tienes que estar cubierta de piercings y tatuajes para usar estoperoles y picos.

 

Look of the day: Knot shirt

Finally I'm back to writing, after two weeks of only publishing pictures!! Anyway the look I created for this post is classic, chic and kinda edgy, due to the vintage vibe the shirt has I decided to mix it with a pale pink item in this case the skinny jeans, which I consider perfect for making a contrast. 

The most important thing you must never forget is to keep a balance in your outfit specially when different patterns and textures are mixed in the same look. There is a special and personal touch that will describe your own style, I wanted to try this vintage shirt with some other color avoiding black or white ! 

So the perfect match to it was a pale pink color, enjoy the post.
