Look of the day: Geometric print

Geometry, expressed through print, shapes and interesting textures, was present all over the catwalk during London fashion week. Perhaps the most original use of it was at Christopher Kane, where intricate origami-style folds featured on dresses to stunning effect.

In this post I decided to championed the geometric trend, integrating the concept into both print and cut. The nuance this season is that geometric shapes are appearing within the context of an overall softer, folkier look with a monochrome style that has been around for the last few seasons.

*** La geometría, expresada a través de los estampados, las formas y las texturas interesantes, estuvieron presentes en todas las pasarelas durante la Semana de la Moda de Londres. Tal vez el uso más original fue con Christopher Kane, donde los pliegues de estilo origami dando rasgos a los vestidos con efectos impresionantes. 

En este post he decidido defender la tendencia geométrica, integrando el concepto en el estampado y el corte. El matiz de esta temporada es que las formas geométricas están apareciendo en el contexto de un look más suave, por lo general de estilo monocromático el cual ya ha existido durante las últimas temporadas.

Look of the day: Playing dress-up

Have you ever heard the quote: Playing dress-up begins at age 5 and it never truly ends? Well, that's what happened to me last sunday. I was suffering a wardrobe crisis, due to the hot weather!! I didn't know what to wear to feel fresh and look great, when suddenly I found this asymmetrical skirt from last season wore it as a dress, and voila! in order to give this garment the 2013 seasonal twist I layered it with a white vest and a cinched waist, btw here are two different ways of a cinched waist to style this look ! 

Don't be afraid when you feel creative, this is one of the results when you play dress-up !

*** ¿Alguna vez has escuchado la frase: Jugar a disfrazarse comienza a los 5 años y nunca termina realmente? Bueno, eso es lo que me pasó el domingo pasado. Estaba sufriendo una crisis de armario, debido al clima caliente! Yo no sabía qué ponerme para sentirme fresca y verme bien, cuando de repente me encontré con esta falda asimétrica de la temporada pasada y me la puse como un vestido, y ¡voilá! con el fin de dar a esta prenda el toque de temporada 2013 la usé con un chaleco blanco y una cintura ceñida, por cierto, aquí hay dos maneras diferentes de  usar una cintura ceñida para este look!

No tengas miedo cuando te sientes creativa, este es uno de los resultados cuando juegas a disfrazarte!

Look of the day: Cotton Candy

Pretty pastel fashion is on trend this spring 2012 with several designers showing looks for spring and summer in these pale hues. I loved the sugary sweet pastel shades that coated the Spring/Summer 2012 catwalks. The high street has picked up the candy shop trend with aplomb, with a whole host of girly pieces. To wear this look in a modern fashion, combine different colors in pastel separates as shown in this post. 

Look for colors such as pale yellow, blush pink, icy blue, or light lavender to forget today's very un-Spring-like weather outside like I did, and start to enjoy your day as if it was the last one! It just might encourage the warmer weather... 

*** La tendencia mas marcada esta temporada es pretty pastel, ya que varios diseñadores muestran looks de primavera/verano en estas tonalidades pálidas. Me encantaron los tonos pastel como dulces de algodón que vi en las pasarelas de primavera/verano 2012. La calle se ha acelerado a la tendencia ya que todas las tiendas parecen de dulces con una gran cantidad de piezas. Para llevar este look de una manera moderna, se combinan diferentes colores pastel como lo traté de hacer en este post. Busque colores como el blush, lo pueden hacer con el amarillo pálido azul cielo o lavanda.  Para olvidar que el clima de hoy es muy poco primaveral decidí usar estos cálidos colores para disfrutar mi día como si fuera el último! Sólo esto podría alentar un poco mas al clima cálido...
